Avery Cobb, RDN

Her Philosophy
Wellness practices should always support ease and flow in life, rather than create stress, obsession, or disturbance. Avery founded Soul Cues as a reflection of these values, encouraging a harmonious intersection between health and intuition, supporting your confidence to trust your body and its ability to do amazing things.
Through her many years of serving countless individuals in transforming their health, Avery found that an essential part of practicing health and healing is (re)connecting with your body’s cues.
So often our bodies are already telling us what they need, but without the skills to interpret those cues they can be difficult to understand. By blending your intuition, or your soul’s cues, with interpretation of your bodily cues, you set a strong foundation for building healthful habits. Your goals go from surface-level to soul-deep. Now that’s what she likes to call sustainable, long-lasting change!
In her practice, Avery provides highly individualized care with goals tailored to your unique life and values. she offers the tangible, evidence-based tools you need to achieve your goals in a simple, easy-to-digest way. You are also supported with understanding the way your body, soul, and emotions interact with your wellness choices to impact your overall well-being.
Her Background
Avery chose to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as it is the only nutrition credential legally authorized to practice Medical Nutrition Therapy and provide personalized nutrition advice in the U.S. It was important to her to earn a credential as the most rigorously trained nutrition professional, committed to providing evidence-based support, requiring 6+ years of education/training.
To become an RDN, Avery graduated summa cum laude in 2018 with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She went on to complete a mandatory 1300+ hour dietetic internship through California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo where she completed rotations in hospital, outpatient, community, and foodservice settings. She passed the board exam to become a Registered Dietitian in 2020. While earning her degree in nutrition she worked/volunteered in many nutrition roles, earning over 10+ years of nutrition experience to-date.
Prior to starting Soul Cues, Avery discovered her passion for women’s/reproductive health, fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum nutrition while working for Women, Infant’s & Children (WIC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting childbearing humans and their children up to the age of 5 with access to nutrition education and food resources. With her compassionate approach to nutrition and wellness, Avery transitioned to supporting nutritional needs through a mental health lens and began working for an eating disorder treatment center.
To-date, Avery has expanded her skillset by completing several additional comprehensive specialty trainings in fertility, pregnancy, and women’s/reproductive health.
While her education and career began with nutrition about 10 years ago, she recently discovered her passion for supporting the birth experience more closely. She completed training to become a doula the same year she opened Soul Cues’ virtual doors. As a DONA-trained doula she greatly looks forward to supporting your empowered birth/postpartum experience.
In her spare time you’ll find her lost in a fiction novel + sipping a steamy cup of tea, snuggling with her two sweet kitties, traveling, whipping up something yummy in the kitchen, diving deep into the latest nutrition research, watching & reading birth stories, and spending time outdoors in the Santa Barbara sunshine.
